Recently commissioned, this is Star Uretech’s second Greaves Flex mixing system.
Star Uretech is a leader in the formulation, manufacture and supply of urethane-based high performance construction adhesives, resin flooring and speciality surfacing systems.
Commissioned in 2024 Star Uretech’s existing Flex system has been a key factor in their growth to date. By deploying multiple mobile process vessels around a fixed mixing station (a.k.a. “change-pan” mixer), Flex has enabled them to sustain high productivity despite frequent batch changes across multiple speciality products. Importantly, this enables Star Uretech to offer short lead times and rapid stock turn across a wide spectrum of innovative products.
While expanding its range to include even more challenging high viscosity products the company needs to maintain the same manufacturing flexibility.
Working collaboratively with Greaves technical team, Star Uretech have identified the ideal solution by extending their Flex system with this new Visco-FLEX 1000 multi-tool mixing station.
Visco-FLEX 1000 delivers
- Continuous flow viscous of product from the vessel wall to the HSD mixing zone
- Intense shear action at the tip of the disperser blade
- Continuous circulation of product up to 65000Cp resulting in:-
- cycle times and energy consumption similar to low viscosity mixing systems
- Lower mixing energy and temperature rise compared to single shaft systems
- On board temperature monitoring and process data recording
- Batch flexibility through use of mobile vessels
