The HSD Range of Mixers

The High Speed Disperser range of mixers are fitted with the serrated tooth impeller which is ideally suited to medium viscosity processes from 80 to 150 poise where the agglomerates are “soft” in nature if a good dispersion is to be achieved for powder into liquid dispersions.

As there are only a few mixing parts the mixers are easily cleaned by running in a suitable solvent and
installation costs are kept to a minimum. The laboratory and medium size production models with stand have the facility of raising and lowering the impeller.

When powders/fillers are added they are drawn downwards into the vortex. The particles are subjected to shearing against each other as they flow across the impeller blade. At the tip of the impeller the particles are subjected to intense shear by the serrated teeth. From there they are returned at high velocity to the batch to complete with cycle. The high speed of the mixer shaft coupled with the relative size of the impeller causes centrifugal displacement of the base fluid resulting in a powerful vortex.
